“This Is All About Relationships”

A player in my tournament traveled roughly fourteen hours from The Hague to be there.

Fourteen hours.

Not for a trophy.
Not for a prize purse.
Not for a networking gimmick.

He said something simple that stuck with me:
“This is all about relationships.”

And he was right.

My tournament doesn’t exist because of logistics. It exists because of people. Because over time, hundreds of individuals have chosen to keep showing up—year after year—because the relationships matter.

In business, we love to talk about strategy.
But relationships are strategy.

Relationships are what hold when schedules change.
They’re what endure when deals get complicated.
They’re what remain when the market gets noisy.

You can build a brand.
You can build a process.
You can build a product.

But you don’t build longevity without people who trust you.

A 14-hour trip is a reminder that relationships aren’t transactional.
They’re voluntary.

And that’s what makes them powerful.

Presence is the one thing you can’t delegate.
