Robert M. Clinger III Invitational Golf Tournament
The Robert M. Clinger III Invitational Golf Tournament is an annual invitation-only event held at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on President’s Day each year. The tournament was started in February 2007 by the founder, Robert M. Clinger III, as an outing for a large group of winter rentals vacationing in the Myrtle Beach area. What started out as a small event with less than two dozen competitors has since grown to include golfers (gentlemen and ladies) from twenty-two states and an international field including competitors from Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Kenya, and several other nations.

The 9th Annual Robert M. Clinger III Invitational Golf Tournament at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, February 20, 2015—The Executive Committee of the Robert M. Clinger III Invitational Golf Tournament released the results of the 9th annual tournament contested on Monday, February 16, 2015 at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This year’s Invitational featured a smaller field as a result of unfavorable weather conditions. Despite a high temperature of only 39 degrees and increasing winds, fifty-nine invitees braved the weather in search of victory and the Obelisk of Victory. This year’s event once again featured an international field with players from the United States, Canada, and Denmark and was the first event to have a former PGA Tour winner, Sam Adams (1973 Quad Cities Open), in the field. This year’s Invitational set a participation record with seventy-two invitees braving a temperature in the mid-40s with steady winds of up to 20mph. Participants came from throughout the United States and Canada, and from as far away as Denmark and Jakarta, Indonesia for two days of golf, gourmet food, and wine at the famed Dunes Golf & Beach Club.
