One of the most interesting things in business is projection.  Sometimes you’ll say nothing at all — and someone will assume you were speaking about them.  That assumption alone tells you more than any explanation ever could.

When professionals are secure in their work, they don’t scan the room looking for threats.  They focus on improving their craft.  If someone sees themselves in a general statement about integrity, professionalism, or originality… that’s rarely coincidence.  It’s usually conscience.

The truth doesn’t need a target.  It just needs clarity.
